After completing his postdoctoral research at LSU, Dr. Temple spent a long career in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry and became Senior Vice President for Central Nervous System Research for Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1984.  He was responsible for drug research and development on a world-wide basis and brought several successful new drugs to the market.

Dr. Temple has an extensive record of patents and publications in scholarly books and journals, and is an avid fiction writer and has published four novels, including Two Letters Then Booger Den (2002), Preacherman (2005), and Voodoo Storm (2008).  He was awarded the Mississippi Authors Award for Fiction for 2004 for Two Letters Then Booger Den.

While his first three books were of the Southern genre, his recent novel Dose of Insanity, is a thriller about the pharmaceutical industry and is based on the author’s own experiences. In this story, avarice and greed trump scientific judgment, and a potential miracle drug brings death and mayhem rather than relief to unsuspecting patients.

Dr. Temple resides in Bonita Springs, Florida, and Greensboro, Georgia, with his wife, Patty, and is a member of the Greensboro Writers' Guild.
